Porsche Cars North America, Inc. will on May 7 host the official opening of its 28-acre U.S. headquarters in Atlanta.
The $100 million facility is at One Porsche Drive near the northeast corner of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The new headquarters is expected to house 400 employees — 100 of which will be new to Georgia.
Porsche Cars North America is the exclusive U.S. importer of Porsche sports cars.

The facility will feature a Technical Training Center, Classic Car Restoration and Display Area, Business Center, restaurants, and a Porsche Experience Center with a 1.6-mile test track.
The company broke ground on the facility in November 2012.
Detlev von Platen, CEO of Porsche Cars North America, said at the time Atlanta was chosen as Porsche’s American headquarters for three reasons, reported Atlanta Business Chronicle’s Phil W. Hudson.
“First, because it is on the East Coast. This is very important because it is close to the German time zone and it has the main U.S. markets. Second, Atlanta is providing us with one of the best workforces in the United States because of its universities. And finally, the Atlanta airport, where 80 percent of the U.S. population is with-in a two hour flight,” von Platen said.
